It is now known that His Excelency, Hon Henry Seriake Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State has formally inaugurated the BAYELSA SOCIAL MEDIA COMMITTEE today.
The Governor was represented by the secretary to the Bayelsa State Government, Prof. Edmond Allisson-oguru. The inauguration which took place at the conference room of the office of the SSG has the SSA on Research and Social Media Hon. John Idumange as the chairman, while Nwokedi Nworisara and Saint Mienpamo Onithsha are to serve as Secretary and Director of operations respectively.
Other members of the Committee includes:
(1) Mr. Ebi Brisibe
(2) Mrs. Anita Godspower Benakiegha
(3) Mr. Sekegha Oguara, and
(4) Ms. Blessing Oyanimigha.
The Committee has been mandated to recomend, identity and evolve strategies on how to use the social media platform to train champions, who will create awareness and sensitize the people of government policies and programes. The Committee is to work in synergy with all relevant governments agencies to promote government policies.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated Committee, Hon John Idumange thanked Governor Henry Seriake Dickson for the unique opportunity given members to serve. He promised to evolve one of the most sophisticated Social Media infrastructure in Nigeria, pointing out that the Committee will discharge its assigned responsibilities with decorum, due deligence and high standing morality deserving of their calling. Several dignitaries were presents at the inauguration ceremony.
