GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
I am directed by the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Bayelsa State on Research & Social Media to announce the postponement of the inauguration/induction of Social Media Champions billed for Saturday June 23rd 2012 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The event has been put off at the instance of the organizers, the Office of the SSA on RESEARCH & SOCIAL MEDIA. The postponement became necessary in the light of the fact that the Special Guest of Honour, His Excellency, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson may be unavoidably absent.
In deference to Governor HSD’s personal commitment to a better global environment, he has a compelling need, in the interest of the Niger Delta Region, to attend the EARTH SUMMIT in Rio Brazil. The inauguration is being postponed to a more convenient date/time to afford the Governor ample opportunity to supervise an event that is very close to his heart. It is important to note that the said inauguration of media champions is the first major SOCIAL MEDIA EVENT holding in Yenagoa since the inception of this administration and Governor HSD gives massive attention to the event.
A new date for the inauguration will be announced soon. We regret the inconvenience the postponement might have caused our Guest Lecturer, the very distinguished invited guests, the worthy Social Media champions and the general public.
